14,000 Children give their lives to Christ in one month in Vietnam!

In the communist country of Vietnam, as in any communist country, children are very protected from any influence that would "cause them to rebel against the communist regime" as they get older. They consider Christianity a threat to their unquestionable rule.  So, "unauthorized" religious gatherings are punishable according to their laws.  Despite the challenges, here’s what the Church in Vietnam is doing – and they’re having phenomenal results!

In their plan to reach their nation for Christ, they put on children’s evangelistic parties.  They give out invitations to 30-50 children in their town or village to meet at a specific location and time.  At the party they  play games, hand out party favors, and then they hand out a copy of the Most Important Story Ever Told booklet.  The trained Christian workers holding the party go through the booklet with each child individually, answering any questions they might have.  Then they invite the children to become a child of God by praying the salvation prayer in th booklet.  Typically  70% of the children make a decision to follow Christ!

The results don’t just stop at the children either.  Thousands of siblings and adults have come to know Christ as well as they see the children’s lives transformed by the Gospel!  Many adults then have attended the next party to talk to the facilitators and give their lives to Christ as well!  Then the cycle continues.

Anna

My name is Anna (10). One day my brother David and I were playing in the nearby park. We played a very long time, and all that time there was big man sitting on a bench near us in the park. He seemed very very sad to us. My brother and I decided to try to cheer him up. We ran home and came right back with a book that made us very happy. This was 1 of the 2 copies we had. I presented my book to the man. When I did, he looked up at me and smiled. Then, he began to flip through the book and read it. Then he started looking at the pictures of the book and suddenly said to us: “Can I take this book to my child, he needs it very much?” We said - “Sure!” By the smile on his face as he was walking away, it seemed that our mission was complete – the very sad man – was happy.

Yerevan, School Teacher

I am a teacher in one of Yerevan's schools. I have been working in schools for about 30 years. I have never seen such a sign of kindness towards our school. The distribution of those books in our school was simply a miracle. I think that “The Greatest Gift of All”** was really the best one for our pupils. This will sow seeds of kindness to them in their blossoming lives. (**This is The Most Important Story Ever Told re-titled for Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child program.)

My name is Ararat, I'm 7 years old. Every night, when I sleep I saw nightmares and it scared me very much. But one day my aunt brought me a book about Jesus. In that book were pictures of Jesus and I read about Jesus and knew Him. Now I know that Jesus is the biggest and strongest in the world. Now Jesus is my friend and because of that I don't see nightmares any more.
